Has anyone ever had an anxiety or panic attack?
December 17, 2009what did it feel like?
i think i may be expereincing an anxiety attack because of a massive amount of stress and i feel a shortness of breath/throat closing in sensation. it started 2 days ago, and it has happened 9 times today, they come and go though, but last a few minutes at the least.
The main symptom of a panic attack is an overwhelming feeling of fear or anxiety, along with physical reactions. An attack starts suddenly and usually lasts from 5 to 20 minutes but may last even longer, up to a few hours. You feel most anxious about 10 minutes into the attack. Symptoms of a panic attack may include:
Rapid breathing (hyperventilation), shortness of breath, or feeling "smothered."
A pounding or racing heart or an irregular heartbeat.
Chest pain.
Lightheadedness.
Sweating.
A choking feeling.
Nausea or an upset stomach.
Dizziness, shaking, or trembling.
Numbness or tingling.
Chills or hot flashes.
Fear that you are going to die, lose control, or "go crazy."
Feelings of being detached from yourself or from reality.
panic attacks can begin with a stressful event or appear without cause.
Anxiety does not appear suddenly; it develops over time. To be diagnosed with anxiety, a person must experience the following:
— Feeling restless, edgy, keyed up
— Tiring easily
— Trouble concentrating
— Irritability
— Increased muscle tension
— Trouble sleeping (initial insomnia or restless, unsatisfying sleep)
These symptom is not the type of symptom easy to get rid of. That’s why had panic attack and anxiety high level almost 5 years. That’s suh a terrible time for me and my family. Really painfull and stressfull. My doctor gave me many different medicine and even Xanax still did not help.
Luckily I have found oe method that work on me and help me get rid of panic attack and anxiety forever. I also have read some good stories about the people who success when use the same method here:

I’ve had one of those attacks twice in the past 2 years. All related to my family problems. Both the attacks inloved me crying absolutely screaming my lungs off, as you said shortness of breath, i saw stars, my heart was pulpitating and i completely blacked out. I was shaking and felt really hot. I had to go to hospital. I don’t know if thats what you’re experiencing. Hopefully not.
Good luck otherwise

Here are some tips on “How to Stop a Panic Attack”
Start breathing deeply – in through the nose, out through the mouth.
Think relaxing thoughts, and again, while breathing in, think “Relax,” and
then breathe out.
Maybe if you just try to relax your muscles. Tense both shoulders, hold
for 10 seconds, then release. Try it again.
IF the adrenaline is really pumping through your system, your body is
tingling with uncomfortable sensations, and now the dreaded feeling of losing
complete control engulfs your emotions. No one around you has any idea of the
sheer terror you are experiencing. For them, it’s just a regular day and
another frustratingly slow line at the grocery store.
You realize you are out of options. It’s time to run. You excuse yourself
from the line looking embarrassed. There is no time for excuses—you need to be
alone. You leave the supermarket and get into your car to ride it out alone.
It’s important to realize that these anxiety attacks are very real to
the people who are having them and they should never be pushed off to the side.
Please remember there is hope for you and there are many ways to overcome Panic
Attacks and Anxiety.
Another great method you can use to stop these attacks is to learn when
it is happening, and then immediately pick something up and focus all of
your attention on it. Start to describe the object to yourself. Tell yourself
how it looks, feels, what color it is, etc. Alternatively, you can get into
knitting. Knitting requires all of your attention and with all of the soft
yarns available it will feel great in your hands as well.
There are many things you can do to trick your mind out of having a
anxiety attack. There are panic attack and anxiety treatment options online
that are designed to trick your mind out of experiencing a Panic Attack and
they do a really great job.
When you are able to stop panic attacks before they start, you will
never have to worry about being in a social situation where you are
panicking ever again.
